about

“Strong” was written from the perspective of not understanding how anyone can be so strong as to walk away from situations and / or something or people you care about. It’s the inner dialogue of feeling lost, vulnerable and not knowing how to let go of what you want, need or hoped for. It’s begs the question of how do you shoulder the weight of losing something or someone so irreplaceable. How is anyone so strong that they can just dial it down and turn it off. How do you do that?

lyrics

I can’t believe it
That I’m the one that feels this
I told myself I should let go
a hundred times or more and so I’m sorry
but I can’t let you go

Wish I didn’t need this
And everything beneath it
sometimes it gets so hard
It’s pulling me apart and I can’t stand it
But I can’t let you go

CHORUS
How do you leave behind what you want
How do you dial it down and turn it off
How do you say goodbye and move along
How is anyone, that strong

Maybe if I try it
Hurts less inside if
I stop needing to explain
the feelings I can’t change and I don’t like it
but I can’t let you go

How do you leave behind what you want
How do you dial it down and turn it off
How do you say goodbye and move along
How is anyone, that strong

If the truth can set you free
then I confess that this is killing me
All the pieces from the past
And all the days I can’t get back
Every day that I can’t have
How, do I, get over that

How do you leave behind what you want
How do you dial it down and turn it off
How do you say goodbye and move along
How is anyone, that strong

Is anyone that strong
Is anyone that strong
Is anyone that strong
Is anyone that strong
Tell me how
Is anyone that strong
